Brooks Teaching Award Goes to Eric Spana

Congratulations to Eric Spana, who has received the David and Janet Vaughn Brooks Award for Teaching in the Natural Sciences.  The award recognizes faculty who encourage intellectual excitement, foster critical thinking, link teaching and research and engage students in the process of discovery.  Eric's lab course in Developmental and Molecular Genetics does all that!  Prof. Mohamed Noor, chair of the Biology Department, said, "Eric's course readily achieves what many of our courses struggle to achieve -- getting students really excited about hands-on work in biology."
