Philosophy of Biology


An introduction to conceptual and methodological issues raised in contemporary biology, including reductionism, the meaning of chance, laws in biology, the units of natural selection, teleology, and the structure of evolutionary theory. Recommended prerequisite: AP biology or introductory biology.
