We are looking forward to celebrating with you at the Undergraduate Biology Ceremony!
Date: Sunday, May 10th, 2026
Time: 12:00 pm to approximately 1pm
Location: Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium
Departmental awards will be presented, and each Biology first major will cross the stage as their name is announced, in recognition of completing their degree. Undergraduates will receive their diplomas in the mail post-graduation.
RSVP
Due to space constraints, the Biology ceremony is intended for first majors in Biology. Students will receive an online form later in Spring to RSVP for themselves and their estimated number of guests. The event is not ticketed, however due to venue size, we ask families to limit guests to approximately 6 per graduate to accommodate all grads and their guests. Light refreshments will be available on a first-come basis prior to the start of the ceremony. If you are a second major in Biology and are interested in attending, please contact Jill Foster to check on availability.
Parking
Please visit the University commencement website for parking and shuttle service info. Wilson Gym is adjacent to Wallace Wade Stadium where the morning campus-wide ceremony is held, so you won’t need to move your vehicle if attending both events.
Photography
Photo Specialties will photograph each student individually on and off stage, available for purchase. Proofs will be provided within a week or two of the ceremony via an email link to students and printed proofs sent to home addresses. The ceremony will not be live-streamed/recorded, however guests are welcome to take their own video & photos, taking care not to block the procession of graduates or the view of others.
Accessibility
Wilson Gym is air conditioned, and the entrance directly off of Krzyzewskiville used for the ceremony is flat. If reserved seating for a family member in a wheelchair or with limited mobility plus a few companions seats would be helpful, contact Jill Foster at least a week prior to the ceremony.
Student Instructions
Arrive promptly following the morning ceremony in Wallace Wade, entering directly into Wilson Gym via the door off the K’ville lawn. Wear your cap & gown and take your assigned seat in the grads section by 11:55 am so we can begin promptly at noon. Ushers will direct you to the stage and back to your seat at the appropriate time. Please remain until the ceremony has concluded.
