How has being a Biology graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"I taught middle and high school science for 4 years. I left to pursue medical school acceptance, but was diagnosed with a medical disorder that ended that pursuit. However, I am able to use my degree and experience from Duke to tutor and write. I was able to publish a book on African American scientists for middle school students."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Biology programs?

"I would tell students to expand the breadth of possibilities available to them for the use their degree. There are many ways to impact society using what you have been exposed to at Duke."
