"I feel the Biology curriculum at Duke prepared me well for my medical career. Learning the fundamentals of Biology most directly helped me when preparing for the MCAT, but even afterwards, I feel this strong foundation has provided me a better understanding of many things in medicine. I feel my broad education at Duke has prepared me for multiple careers and for life in general. Prior to my career in medicine, I worked as a systems consultant for years, and again, my Duke education really supported me in that as well."
"Always keep a broad perspective of things, of your place in life and nature, and understand that most of the issues you may be facing now are transitional. Adversity cultivates resilience, so try to appreciate the difficulties for this reason. This is hard to do, but really worth it.
