Adrienne Taylor, B.S. 2008

Consultation-Liaison Fellowship Program Director, Brigham and Women's Hospital – Boston MA

2008 Major: Biology and Psychology

How has being a Biology graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"My major in the Biology has helped to create a foundation as I have developed a career in medicine and behavior. During my time in the department, I focused in the concentration of Animal Behavior. I was also able to participate in research with in the department and utilize this program to graduate with distinction. These experiences allowed me to go on to pursue research at NIH after graduation and then go on to medical school. I currently work as a psychiatrist who specializes in the care of patients who are both medically and psychiatrically ill and have been able to use some of the skills I learned at Duke toward the creation of this career."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Biology programs?

"Make sure to utilize all the various experiences available to you as there are so many opportunities to get involved."
