How has being a Biology graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?

"My time at Duke in the Biology and Biochemistry departments taught me the fundamentals of scientific investigation and exposed me to the fascinating breadth of biology across species."

What advice would you give students in Biology?

"Challenge and indulge yourself as an undergraduate. Take the most rigorous courses available, but also stretch yourself beyond what might be your obvious interests -- enroll in the plant physiology class (especially if you plan to attend medical school!) and embrace the introductory courses that survey this vast and fascinating field. You'll never regret it."
