Clara Lee, B.S. 2014

Medical Student, Emory School of Medicine — Atlanta, Georgia

2014 Major: Biology

How has being a Biology graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?

"I loved being a Biology major at Duke! Through the intensive basic science courses, such as Molecular Biology and Genetics, I was able to build a solid foundation for the learning I would do a few years down the road in medical school. At the same time, the variety and flexibility within the major allowed me to explore interests completely unrelated to medicine, from Sensory Biology to Primate Sexuality to Sociobiology."

What advice would you give students in Biology?

"Take classes that sound interesting to you! Your interest in the subject matter will be the most important factor in how much you gain from the course, and what you ultimately will remember about your studies several years down the line."
