Tom Mitchell-Olds Named a AAAS Fellow

Prof. Tom Mitchell-Olds has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science for 2017.  Congratulations, Tom!  The AAAS is the largest scientific society in the world and seeks to "advance science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people."  The Fellows are recognized for contributions to science and technology, scientific leadership and extraordinary achievements across disciplines.  Previous honorees include Thomas Edison and Margaret Mead, as well as scientists who subsequetly received the Nobel Prize.

Mitchell-Olds studies genetic variation in wildflowers and rice as it influences the plant’s adaptation to the environment and survival.
