Reading for Research

BIOLOGY 210S

Students will deepen their understanding of the scientific research process and build critical analysis skills in reading scientific journal articles about biomedical science. Learn background about various scientific topics in biomedical research, understand the hypothesis, methods, results, and conclusions of a paper. Practice science communication through scientist interviews, presentations to the class and writing and submitting a magazine article about the publication to Duke Vertices.

Pre or co-requisite: Chemistry 99D, 101DL, 110DL, 20 or 21, or Biology 20, 21, 201L, 202L or 203L, or Neuroscience 101D or 102
