Joanna Dreyfuss, B.S. 2007

Associate Professor of Obstetrics ad Gynecology, UT Southwestern – Dallas, TX

2007 Major: Biology; minor in Chemistry

How has being a Biology graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"I went on to medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. I completed OB/gyn residency at UT Southwestern and after a brief time in private practice am now back as an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Biology programs?

"Biology was an obvious choice for major after completing the necessary pre-requisites for medical school. I took vertebrate anatomy as a senior which actually ended up being a good glimpse into first year medical school. I love being a doctor and am grateful that my Duke education made the transition to medical school seamless."
