How has being a Biology graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"My time at Duke, and specifically my time as a Biology major, fostered my lifelong interest in the sciences, leading the way to a career in infectious diseases. My training at Duke set foundations of critical thinking, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity that I have built upon throughout my career. These skills have been invaluable as I have progressed in my training and lifelong learning."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Biology programs? 

"At Duke, you are surrounding by amazing scientists and scholars. Take full advantage of the opportunities this provides and explore areas that you previously thought were "non starters," as you never know who or what might spark a newly found interest or passion."
