How has being a Biology graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?
"My coursework in Biology deepened my understanding of botany, anatomy, physiology, and cellular mechanics but more importantly it made me a critical thinker. I learned how to interrogate problems, design inquiries, and evaluate potential solutions."
What advice would you give students in Duke's Biology programs?
"Take classes that allow you to get outside and do some fieldwork. Some of my favorite memories are from walks in the Duke Forest or trips to the Marine Lab. And get to know your professors- they are extremely smart people and always willing to help interested students."
