Facilities
Teaching and research facilities are located in the Biological Sciences Building, the Duke Primate Facility, and the brand new French Family Science Center, which was completed in November 2007. Instrumentation available includes scanning and transmission electron microscopes, mass spec facilities, and high throughput DNA sequencing facilities as well as standard equipment for cellular and molecular research. Other facilities include the 8,300-acre Duke Forest, adjacent to the campus; the Biology Field Station; an herbarium of 700,000+ specimens; greenhouses; the morphometrics laboratory; and the Duke University Marine Laboratory (located at Beaufort, North Carolina with dormitories, laboratories and a fleet of research vessels)
