BIOLOGY 427s: CURRENT TOPICS IN SENSORY BIOLOGY
Description:
This seminar studies recent papers in the field of sensory biology.
At the beginning of the semester, the students vote on what topics
they'd like to cover, and then we read and discuss about 3-4 papers
a week. Topics have included human pheromones, why we get itchy,
magnetoreception, music, bioluminescence and many other subjects.
Students are responsible for reading the articles, participating
in the discussion and leading the discussion once. Grade is based
on participation.
Prerequisites:
Bio 201L and 202L, or the equivalent, and one course in Neuroscience,
or consent of instructor.
