A post-doctoral research position is available in Dr. Gustavo Silva’s laboratory at Duke University (sites.duke.edu/silvalab). The prospective candidate will develop research focused on understanding the role of protein ubiquitination and protein dynamics during cellular response to stress. The lab uses a combination of molecular and large scale approaches, including mass spectrometry-based proteomics and next generation sequencing, to elucidate signaling pathways in yeast and mammalian cells.
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with strong expertise in molecular cloning, protein engineering, and yeast genetics to fulfill this position. Additional experience in proteomics, genomics, and/or computational biology will be favored and is desirable, but not a requirement. Communication and interpersonal skills are valued in order to work in a young, dynamic, diverse, and collaborative environment.
Candidates with strong work ethic, creativity, and productivity are encouraged to apply. For the successful candidate we will provide access to resources, mentoring, and a supportive environment for the advancement of their career.
The laboratory is located at the state-of-the-art French Family Science Center at Duke and offers an extremely rich intellectual environment with access to Genomics and Proteomics core facilities, and High Performance Computer Cluster. Additional support and resources are also offered through the Office of Postdoctoral Services (https://postdoc.duke.edu/).
Prospective candidates should submit a cover letter describing their research experience, scientific interest, career goals, and motivation to apply for this position. Please include an updated CV and the contact information of three references. Applications should be submitted electronically to Academic Jobs Online (https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/10359).
